The Necklace of Athena
Ever thought about reading a novel that’s a cross between Percy Jackson for adults and Margaret Atwood’s science futuristic tales? That’s what you have in Effrosyni Moschoudi, a native-born Greek author who has carved a fine niche for herself in the fantasy-mythology genre, (never thought such a thing existed.) Writing has been an avocation since childhood, and has been for Moschoudi the lifeline that kept her psyche seamed together. Indeed, this is the power of the imagination. And in her books such as The Necklace of Athena and The Lady of the Pier, Moschoudi provides a healthy dose and then some. Perhaps this is why The Necklace of Athena has been nominated by the ABNA Q-Finalist and has topped the Amazon chart at #1 in Mythology and #2 in Fairy Tales this summer. It’s been described as a “Rare Gem” by the Fantasy & Sci-fi Network and it also made the shortlist in 2014 for the “50 Best Self-Published Books Worth Reading” from Indie Author Land. Weirdly her books also feature in the “Paranormal Romance” category. (That’s what happens when you get immortals falling in love with mortals.)
The story features the curse/blessing of a mystical talisman, the necklace of Athena, that must be found and destroyed by a mortal son of Poseidon. It is a fantasy adventure of Greek myths and time travel that’s suitable for all ages.
Effrosyni Moschoudi was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She has a BSc in Computer Science and has worked for large companies for twenty years, mainly in the hotel and airline business. She’s been writing since childhood and lives in a quaint seaside town near Athens with her husband Andy and a naughty cat called Felix. She’s passionate about books and movies and dedicates sufficient time on her weekends to enjoy a bit of both.
