Yearly Beloved Podcast Begins
Dearly beloved,
Welcome to my latest spiritual exercise–“Yearly Beloved.”
In an effort to become more prayerful, I am starting a new project— to broadcast a meditation for each day of the Orthodox calendar. Sometimes I will reflect on the Scripture reading for the day, sometimes on the feast day, sometimes even on the life of the saint(s) for that day. As a daily meditative exercise, this will force me to read the Scriptures and start the day with the Word. After prayer, and the help of the Holy Spirit, hopefully, I will be able to give personal insights into what that holiday, that saint, that Scripture means for me. It will be a way to test my consistency, an effort in self-discipline. I am not a theologian, a scholar; I have not had any training in exegesis. I am only a laywoman, a sinner, an everyday mortal. If I miss a day, forgive me from today. I probably will not be able to keep my commitment. I am human and will fail; but I will get back on track. That’s the important thing.
